Maria Tumbling was born in 1971 in the Mexican State of Jalisco. At the age of 5 she came to the United States with her mother and siblings to live in Le Grand, CA. Maria attended school at Le Grand Elementary and Le Grand High School. After graduating, Maria attended CSU Long Beach where she would meet the love of her life.

From ther,e Maria and her soon to be husband decided to move back to the central valley and decided that Atwater would be the place to start thier family. Both Maira's children attend schools in the Atwater area. Maria always emphasized the importance and value of an education as well as family. She was also active in her children's participation in sports and was a very competative person. With the foundaton set for her children, they went on to pursue their dreams.

Maria was also an extremely hard and devoted worker at Teasdale Latin Foods shipping department for more than 20 years. Maria was loved by her fellow co-workers as well as the truck drivers passing through.


The Maria E. Tumbling Scholarchip Fund was created in honor of Maria E. Tumbling. Our goal is to provide scholarships to deserving area youth that have need of financial assistance, are active in supporting the community in which they live and show an eagerness to achieve through knowledge by intending to pursue post-high school course of study at either college/university or other post-secondary educational institution
